Correction of a mistake in my review below. "From Moscow" is nonsense, of course. I must have had the delivery of a Gagarin commemorative item sent from Moscow in mind, when i wrote that. Meranom is located in Chistopol, Tatarstan, not far from the Vostok factory itself. Which makes the record time shipment to the Netherlands (with UPS) in just three days all the more impressive. With the items packed in those hand and tailor made cardboard boxes and layers of cushioning foil, a kind of packing care unique to Meranom.

Earlier versions of the Generalskie watch were part of the classic Komandirskie line. It is good to see that the Generalskies are elevated to Vostok's "Prestige" line. This deluxe line also features the Kremlyovskie watches and all watches in this line are gold plated and finished in a prestigious way.

I could find no bad points

The 540 retro case is ideal for this design. At 42 mm case diameter, this watch is much bigger than the Kremlyovskies and the 14 carat gold plating (5 microns) gives the watch even more presence on the wrist. The shape details in the dial and case, in combination with the leather strap, give a classic look, which at the same time differs from European equivalents because of the armed forces coat of arms (House of Romanov style double headed eagle) and the Russian flag. The Meranom team and UPS managed to get this watch (and the 543366 )bought at the same time) from Moscow to the Netherlands in 3 days. Record time!
