Very beautiful, looks like an expensive dress watch.
Very accurate.
Typical tough and durable Vostok product.
Tritium tube hands and dial REALLY light up at night.
The black PVD is well-applied and looks good, very smooth, no defects.
Mineral glass crystal is nice, not easily-scratched as is an acrylic crystal.
Strap seems to be decent quality overall.
English instructions are clear and easily understood.
I also like knowing the exact date the watch was manufactured, from the paper they enclose.
The metal bracelet (if you employ one) is comfortable and secure. Built a bit on the cheaper side, BUT it is very functional. (I have seen some really bad bracelets from other manufacturers.)
The various models of Vostok movements in my watches all seem to be good, durable, accurate.

Not much of anything.
"Some" Vostok's could do with better hour-hand alignment at "12". (I have a few Vostok's that could be better in this regard.) However, this 396778 has GOOD hour-hand alignment at "12". This is a matter of assembly, depending on who assembles your watch.
Have to be careful about setting the date, as the instructions say. Not a big deal if you READ your instructions.

I really love this watch, and the other Vostok's I own. I cannot say enough good things about this 396778, or the other Vostoks. Even the hour-hand alignment at "12" is good on this 396778.
I have found the Vostok's to be very nice quality watches for the money.
Some people at the various "watch hobby" websites have complained about the "loose/wobbly" crown when pulled out. They either do not understand the crown design, or have not read the paper that explains the crown design. This is actually a GOOD design feature. People - you need to read all the instructions regarding your Vostok's!
